Hello. So.. I have this FPS issue..

First of all, let me just tell you the whole story. I've played end-game raiding with most/all settings on as low as possible, while still having what I find "satisfying enough" FPS. Ie about 20 or so while doing any encounter. I personally know it's mostly cause of the addons, cause if I turn them all off, I get -alot- higher fps, although that's on the cost of efficiency in my opinion.


Anyway, I've had it like this for ages, up untill about a week ago. Wednesday to be exact. This is when it all went wrong. Any encounter in Dragon Soul now gets me very low. Like really, very low. While the first couple of bosses is "fine", I still had lower fps then usual. While I don't remember what fps I had on those first bosses, what I can say is that I'm now "progressing" through Spine HC with about 2-3 FPS normally throughout the fight with the exception of when we are rolling or killing those armadillions (xD) or whatever they're called. Im literally falling down even below that.

And on Madness normal, while attacking deathwings tentacles, I have the same, and when killing deathwings head Titan Panel showed my FPS at 0.8.

That is, with my usual addons etc. enabled.

However, if I turn ALL addons off. I'm still sitting at around 10fps. Although my performance drops to what, 1/4th of what it is with addons enabled and fps below 3, simply cause of playing with an uncomfortable UI + not having what I call necessary information easily gathered. Ie cooldowns/watershield/earthshield etcetc.

So yeah, Im ripping off my hair tagging along with this low fps.

I do have to admitt though, that the timing of when this problem occured, does (maybe, I don't know for sure) fit with when I decided to update my Nvidia Drivers to the newest version. But because I suck, I don't remember my previous version(All I know is that it has to be old. v275.33 is what rings my bells the most, its what I recognize the most out of the names of all the drivers). I did try and install this version again, with no luck. Before I did that though, I checked if the windows restoring thingy rememebered when I updated my drivers, in which case I could roll it back to that point, but again, no luck.

So yeah, now I have the newest drivers installed again.

I have fiddled with the Nvidia settings, setting the performance/quality slider all the way to Performance, Ive tried restoring the settings to default, letting the programs decide for themselves, setting it all to as performance friendly as possibly manually, but still no luck.

Ive defragmented my harddrive(Don't know if it finished properly. I left it on for a couple of hours and when I came back, the circling icon wasnt circling anymore. How great would it be with some form of Loading bar, really), done CCcleaner, checked for ad-aware, viruses, still nothing.

The way I see it, since removing all my addons didnt work all that great, my mind decided to rule out world of warcraft as being the main cause of the fps drop?
-What I could do, is reinstall wow, although I havnt done any changes to wow for ages, literally.
-Do a clean OS install, issue is, I don't find my OS cd's.
-Try out this teqnicue I saw on the telly performed my some russians. Firmly knock on the computer untill it works the way I want it to work.


On the good side though, my GPU temp (meassured by HWMonitor) is reduced by a couple of degrees, 10 or so. Probably not relevant, but my room temp should be stable throughout the year at around 22 and usually after a hard day playing wow it's on about 75, now it's at 60. Makes me thing it's probably something with my GPU. Maybe it's something limiting it's performance? Other games works fine though. It just feels like my pc was set on Power-saving mode (Did check this aswell! It's on "high"performance, made me laugh cause it's ironic)
