Axoron | Can only log in as adminWed, 01. Feb. 2012 12:02 GMT Downloaded the patch today and couldn't even get to log in screen, I'd just get an error 131 message (tried repair but it said there was no problem:p). Searched the forum for that error and found an entry saying to delete data and cache folders and then repair. Tried that but repair tool couldn't find wow. I started the game to see if that would help, at which point it started to download 15gb of data! Searched the forum for this and found that if the game data is corrupted the downloader will redownload the whole game to solve the problem. So fine ok, i let it do that. Once finished I got the same error 131 message. Then remembered that logging in as admin has helped in the past, I tried that - hey presto it worked, everything good. So my problem is do I have to log in as admin forever? That seems wrong ie. the extra step (yes i am that lazy) and also that I'm ignoring a problem. For any blue posters that might answer, plz keep in mind my technical expertise is that of a moldy lemon, so plz make sure your reply is in dumbass format. Also, my pc is clean my av program (norton) is great (catches evil stuff and in my experience doesn't conflict with mmo's) and the only problems with i've had on this computer with wow, are the game-wide ones and ones after a patch. Now that i've shifted the blame away from myself, plz help:D |

Feb. 2012 12:02 GMT Hi there, We do not support the game when not run as an administrator, the game requires administrator access in order to create and alter certain files, so you will run into certain issues if the game does not have this access. You can ensure the game always has this access if you're on Windows 7 or Vista, by right clicking on the shortcut to the game, choosing Properties, then the Compatibility tab and ticking the option Run this Program as an Administrator |
