Nkado | How to avoid a HUGE patch downloadWed, 01. Feb. 2012 14:02 GMT Here's how the process went for me: 1. Optimization, took about 20 minutes. 2. Error. Please run repair. 3. Closed the launcher. Ran repair - it froze and I could see no progress at all. 4. Closed repair, ran the launcher again. No error message now, just a HUGE patch. 5. Closed launcher again, re-started it. Launcher detected data corruption, ran repair (about 5 minutes). Fixed it. Started re-downloading the patch. 6. Launcher suddenly had a MUCH smaller patch to download and it was done in 3 minutes or so. If anyone encounters a similar process, just follow the instructions (run repair etc.), and if it doesn't work, follow the process outlined above, as it just might work. All in all, it took about 40 minutes, because I waited in between the steps to see if there really WAS something wrong. Might take as little at 15 minutes. |

Feb. 2012 15:02 GMT Hi there, I'm glad to hear that you were able to work around this issue, Nkado However if you're unable to avoid a large download, you can try to run the Repair Program. If that doesn't help, you may need to reinstall the game, at the moment probably the optimal way would be to use the Cataclysm DVD, and then patch from there. |
