Smitra | "Launcher cannot obtain patch information" (TS done)Wed, 01. Feb. 2012 11:02 GMT Hello, Blizzard employees and fellow WoW Players. I am, as of now, unable to download (actually, even start the actual downloading process) of Patch 4.3.2. I have talked to Technical Support, but she could only give me an article by e-mail after going through some of the troubleshooting steps, but we must've confused one another, because I didn't get the e-mail, so I'm gonna make a thread here, of the things that I have done, thus far (as told by customer support), so that others may attempt some more untraditional troubleshooting steps, but also looking for an actual solution. I have moved World of Warcraft from my harddrive to this laptop (Using a temprary laptop until my shipment comes to town), but patching thus far has worked like a pearl, hardly noticed it, really. I have tried: 1. Rebooting routher. 2. Run as Administrator (Launcher and WoW.Exe) 3. Deleting WTF Folder 4. Booting my computer in Safe Mode with networking 5. Tethered internet from my phone. 6. Allowing Blizzards component programs, Launcher and such access through my Firewall and other 'protection' programs. 7. Closing every possible process of Curse Client (AddOns) 8. Yelling 9. Leaning back, lidding a smoke, closing my eyes to open them again (Believe it or not, it works sometimes) 10. Tried unplugging my mouse (It's a modificationable gaming mouse, so I figured that the mode swap could affect some processes, somehow, so I tried) I run Windows 7 Ultimate on a laptop that was originally installed with Windows Vista (I bought this computer from a friend, until my Visa would be reopened so I could order a new PC - Different story, though). It's an Acer Aspire 8920. From my point of view, there are following options, left: A) Run a full repair of World of Warcraft. B) Reinstall World of Warcraft from scratch. C) Wait for my new PC D) Get high and miss raids this week /Smitra |
