Unofficial Troubleshooting 4.3.2Wed, 01. Feb. 2012 14:02 GMT

Hello everyone.

I've been dealing with some problems this morning and later on the afternoon with the Patch of 4.3.2 and once I got myself settled, I thought I'd share my walk-throughs with you all and giving you all an alternative way of fixing your problems, before posting here, to give the Blizzard Employees some sparetime to actually focus on single-file cases. So if this helped you or you see the same solutions, thumb it up/bump it so it gets more catchy for newcomers (Just for today).

I want to let you all know, though, that I am no professional service supporter or anything close to that, all the information I'm sharing with you as of today, is based on what I have been told to do by someone up the ladder of perfection (Blizzard Technical Support).

Please note that everything in this thread is taken from the perspective of those using Internet Explorer 9 and Windows 7, aswell as playing on the European realms.

Solution A)
1. http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac215/kelm2601/internetoption.png
2. Allow access for World of Warcraft Launcher through your Firewall (Type 'Firewall' in your search bar and open 'Allow programs through Firewall' and turn off your Firewall completely - Remember to turn it back on)
3. Delete these folders: http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac215/kelm2601/deletethosefolders.png , along with http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac215/kelm2601/deletethatfolertoo.png . You will automatically get the folders back once you start to patch.
4. Run a repair (Remember to 'Run as Administrator') .
5. Run launcher.exe as Administrator and you should be patching.

Solution B) If the steps during sloution a), didn't help you at all or simply didn't clear your problems, please consider these possibilities:

1. Restart your PC and hit F8 during loading your operative system, to enter the BIOS optionboard, chose 'Safe Mode with Networking' and repeat step 5, from Solution A).

2. Search Bar > Type ' CMD' > Run as Administrator > Type in: ipconfig /renew (all). 'All' is optional. Alternatively; ipconfig /renew all and hit enter. This has worked for me on outnumberious other occassions, but not sure if it is infact of any help to anyone, but it can't do any harm at all, so try it if you're in a buttomless hole.

3. If you successfully got the patch or atleast started patching, as soon as 'Play' uplids and you're able to start the game, please do so and check your buttom left corner on the login screen, for the disclamation mark for US/EU, or check the logon 'message of the day', I, personally, got the American Patch and my client flipped over. IF this happens, you need to reinstall the game from scratch (Please remember to uninstall the actual game before reinstalling and redownloading). I suggest using the Cataclysm DVD's and patching from that point, but if you're like me and you purchased online or you can't find your box or your cat burned your dvd with cold coffee, go and redownload, with a decent connection, you should be able to get online before the sun goes down (We're in Feburary, ehm ... Depending on where you are, might wanna get some coffee if you're having problems staying awake after the sun goes down).

If anyone has a simular troubleshooting for any of the other problems, feel free to post it here or alike so I can update the main thread, to help even more players get back on the servers in time for all the countless hours of fun still to come. Also, it's Patchdays, Blizzard Employees are (Atleast, my guess) working very hard and the less people they have answering the same inquires over and over again, the more people they have polishing Diablo III and sorting the actual Patch from the root.

Who knows, if we all just help each other, instead of bothering the employee about the same question, they answer fifty times per day, maybe, eventually, we will have Gamemasters flying around giving out cookiebaskets.
