 Xare | 'Failed to download information about the next patch'Wed, 01. Feb. 2012 16:02 GMT I'm currently getting this error when trying to play WoW. In the past i have loaded the game client directly to get around the loader but now even when trying that, the loader opens and displays the 'Failed to download information about the next patch' error message. Could someone shed some light on a solution for me please? Before posting please bear in mind, I am at university. Telling me to 'turn off my firewall' or 'configure it to allow programs to download' is not possible. Also contacting my network administrator is also pointless as they're not going to re configure the university network simply because some gamers are having issues downloading a patch. As I understand it, the loader works via torrenting (which is blocked by my university proxy). I can't turn off the torrenting/P2P option in the loader as it crashes as soon as it displays the error message so please do not respond with 'Turn off P2P sharing' Are there any mirror sites out there where i can download the patch directly? |

Feb. 2012 11:02 GMT Hello Xare, I'm afraid that we're unable to effectively troubleshoot your issue if you're connected to a university network which may not have all the ports necessary open that our downloader and launcher require. The only thing I can recommend is that you try to download the update via safe mode with networking: http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/how-do-i-boot-the-computer-in-safe-mode However, please bear in mind that if the issue is originating in your network the issue is going to persists and you will need to contact your network administrator for assistance. |
