Snotgim | 2kb/s download speed.Wed, 01. Feb. 2012 18:02 GMT I stopped playing wow just after cataclysm was released due to time/work commitments. A month ago, I started playing again. Everything downloaded and updated fine. The game ran perfectly. 100fps, 30-40ms connection speeds. Using a 16Meg line. Today, it ran something called optimisation. Now I have a 1.4GB patch to download. I don't normally complain about patches, they come pretty quick. *BUT* this is downloading (when it manages anything) at about 2.0kb/s. Although it's over a decade since I had dial up. This is worse than having a 9600 baud modem. Any suggestions as to what to do. Looks like at this rate, I'm unlikely to be playing wow again this month. I just signed up for a year's subscription. Can I get refunds or is Blizzard actually going to host this download rather than us relying on peer-peer downloads which are clearly not working. /miffed |

Feb. 2012 11:02 GMT Hello Snotgim, As advised by other users, please attempt to download the update in Safe Mode with Networking: http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/how-do-i-boot-the-computer-in-safe-mode You can also try to turn off the peer-to-peer option in the launcher to see if that improves your download rate. |
