Detox | Large Download - not possible in LauncherThu, 02. Feb. 2012 12:02 GMT I have a similar problem to most of the other people who posted here, which is that since the patch the game is downloading massive amounts of data, so much I can't play since my environment is constantly loading. I completed the patch download, I have completed the new optimization process to reduce the total size of the game data. After launching the game after this it would simply freeze on either character selection screen or loading screens, which I solved through the forums help => Deleting WTF/Interface folder, and dumping some cache through the command prompt as explained elsewhere. After this the game worked and I could login, but once I enter a character it has to download the entire zone while in the loading screen. Once that has been done and I entered successfully it still has to download everything INSIDE the zone meaning for all NPC's I have to stand in front of them and wait for 5-10 minutes to wait for them.. its showing the red/orange download circle on the top/center of the screen constantly. My game file is still over 24GB in size on my harddisk, and the reorganization thing that came with the patch completed successfully. I've read that most people simply get the recommendation to simply reinstal the game but thats not an option for me as I play via a smartphone connection - which can run WoW but takes about a month to download 24GB... In short: Can I reset this download? can I make it appear in the launcher instead of ingame? it is immensely frustrating to have to sit at a loading screen for 10 minutes only to not be able to do anything for the same amount of time each time you want to speak to an NPC, change zones or use a portal.. PS: The game no longer crashes so I have no crashlog/reports to post. |

I'd also recommend you to navigate to the Launcher's Options -> Downloader Preferences menu and disable the Allow quick play regardless of network speed and Download while playing World of Warcraft options. |
![]() Krinskal | Large Download - not possible in LauncherThu, 02. Feb. 2012 14:02 GMT Could you please try and delete the Cache folders located in World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft\Data? Once deleted, let the Launcher recreate the cached files and then login to the game. |
