A few days ago I recently had to install a hotfix that popped up, I went to install it as usual but during it my router failed and dropped my internet, when I went back into it the launcher was saying it was "optimizing my World of Warcraft install", My copy of WoW was running perfectly before this so I don't see why it did this without me telling or wanting it to.

After that finished the hotfix update seemed to vanish, then I got about 800mb update saying it was the Hour of Twilight patch, after 2 days of downloading when it finished I tried logging onto WoW. I got the loading game screen freeze and then an instant 'Disconnected.' a few times but I got in eventually. After logging in my warlock wouldn't load, the blue bar at the top went about to 20% then back to 0 and 20 again and again. When I tried to choose another character the game just froze, but the music continued to play.

So after restarting the client several times I decided to log in as my warlock, as it always had him selected first. I got in about 50% of the loading screen (I was in Northren) where it just stopped. I could move the mouse and the music continued to play but it wouldn't load at all. My internet was fine so I figured something was wrong with WoW. After trying many different methods and browsing the support forum for a long while I tried to run the "Verify/Repair Game Data" in the help section of the Loader, sure enough it went through it to 100% until it finished.

I got a 3.6GB download that I needed to download, I'm unsure if its just missed pieces or replacing corrupted data but whenever I quit the Launcher and restarted it the download would be gone, I would run "Verify/Repair Game Data" again and it came back, resuming the download.

So right now I am just downloading this huge chunk of data, if I could get another method or a quicker way to get back into the game then that would be great. I really don't want to re-install WoW but if I need to then let me know.

Hi there,

Repairing the game may have located data that was corrupt, in order to ensure this doesn't happen again please run a full Scandiskp on the hard drive where you have the game installed:

Also wherever possible, please close down other applications.
