Zxeal | High latency on virgin media adslSun, 19. Feb. 2012 12:02 GMT Hi, I've been getting significantly higher ping in-game lately and it was fine a week ago. I was usually sitting at 30-40ms. For the past several days, its been hovering at just over 100 and goes much higher during raids (up to 150-200). Here is a test I just ran: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1782944312.png The latency even happens at very early times (today it was as early as 9am). Speedtest.net and pingtest.net both report sub-20ms ping and my usual, expected download and upload speeds. As the title mentions, I am on Virgin Media National in the UK and both their forums and service status pages don't report any problems right now. - I am on Windows 7 64bit, with the 64bit WoW client - I have tried running without addons and I have deleted my cache folder - I have not installed any new drivers for my network adapter or any hardware lately - I do not have any background applications running other than Google Chrome - I have tried setting the MTU to 1458, 1492 and 1500 along with rebooting my router and my PC - I have always been on a wired connection - I have tried setting the "Optimize Network for Speed" setting on and off, no difference - I have made characters on the Karazhan, Spinebreaker and Kor'gall realms and the latency is roughly the same - I have tried playing some other games, including League of Legends and Battlefield 3 and I was getting 30-50ms. - I have tried another router - a Linksys WAG120N. - The firmware on my current router cannot be updated as it is a specially modified one from the ISP. - I have tried turning on and off the TcpAckFrequency trick and the ping was higher without it - I have tried disabling all firewalls and protection features on my router as well as the windows one. I do not use any antivirus software. Feb. 2012 14:02 GMT Hi there, There does seem to be a bump in latency around here: 4 89 ms 73 ms 56 ms host82-14-174-105.not-set-yet.ntli.net [82.14.174.105] However in order for us to check this more in-depth, could I ask for a pathping to your realm instead: http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/how-do-i-create-a-pathping-to-a-world-of-warcraft-realm |
