Wehugheogthr | Low FPS (and directX 9 or 11)Sun, 19. Feb. 2012 23:02 GMT Hey guys, I have been pulling hair out of my head because of low fps, especially in DS raid. Having recently bought a niiiice laptop hardware setup, I was gobsmacked when I could only run the game on low low low settings and even then sometimes have problems. After spending hours and hours on different forums, it turns out that MY solution was to turn of DirectX 11 (in the game) and switch back to DirectX 9 !!! Easy as that. So I did NOT change Window 7 x64 settings, just the game settings. This is for the following system: Intel Core i7 2630 QM 2 Ghz Radeon HD 6850M with 1GB GDDR5 1920x1080 8GB DDR3 RAM 120GB SSD drive It's still not what I expect WoW to run at, but much much better then running DirectX 11 in the game. Oh, I also installed the 64-bit stuff from the sticky, which helps a bit. Maybe the above will help some people. Do NOT just take it for granted that your new shiny hardware will automatically support DirectX 11. Try it out, nothing to loose....... Question to Blizzard: Why the heck did you put water underneath Zon'ozz and Yor'Sahj fights? My liquid detail is set to low because of that. It just eats away at CPU capacity during RAIDs. I would almost say to get rid of it. :) |

Feb. 2012 09:02 GMT Hi there, Directx 11 is something we are still working on at the moment, so while it is a fully integrated feature, it isn't something that is guaranteed to work in all situations. You may find this produces unpredictable effects, so we do recommend that players try the newer Directx 11 mode, if you do experience issues with is please revert to Directx 9 |
