Nifridel | A special, "ordinary" raid boss kill videoThu, 08. Dec. 2011 01:12 GMT Hi guys! May I steal a moment of your day? I admit, this won't be the most inventive, original or expertly crafted creation you've ever seen, but I wanted to post this video I made of my guild defeating the Spine of Deathwing encounter anyway. We aren't exactly a top guild going for their world first kill, or supreme PVP beings that one-shot everything we look at. This isn't the case of a classy machinima crafting ensemble displaying their latest pièce de résistance either. Mostly, I just thought the video turned out kind of nice. I think it conveys exactly what I enjoy most about WoW: killing internet dragons with my guild mates, some of whom I have known for as long as the game exists. New takedowns still feel epic no matter how many other guilds have gone before us. It's fantastic fun even at our 'just another 10 man guild' level. My dear guildies loved this recording -- of course especially since the euphoria of a great raid is still relatively fresh in our minds -- and I was wondering if there are any other players out there that can look at this and go "heck yeah, that's us too!". To me, adventuring through raid dungeons is not so much about advancing the story of the game, it's about the people behind the mouse and keyboard, and how they interact and develop together. That's why I kept the voice chat running in the back, because I think that removing it removes the whole point of showing how a guild kills a boss. It isn't really about the tactics. Not to me. (Although I did include optional annotations so those that don't know the fight can follow along.) This one's for all the generally unsung, but no less brave heroes of Azeroth. Hope you'll enjoy it, but don't be afraid to tell me if you don't. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03PZPRLZhE4 |
