Garrath | [Guide] Picking Your ClassMon, 03. Jan. 2011 12:01 GMT Helloz, Since my last 'guide' (about races: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1267108135) was received fairly well, I've decided to make another one that might help you choose your class. What I'm gonna try to do, is to write how it feels to play a class and, in short, how the different talent specialization feels, and hopefully that'll help you when you need to choose what you want to play as. I hope to get basically the same info out to you, as you would get by leveling to level 10-20 with every class and reading throught their talent specs. The faster way, basically. The classes are in aplhabetical order, being the following: Death Knight (Post 1) Druid (Post 2) Hunter (Post 2) Mage (Post 3) Paladin (Post 3) Priest (Post 4) Rogue (Post 4) Shaman (Post 5) Warlock (Post 6) Warrior (Post 6) Let's get started, shall we! Death Knights Death Knights are the only Hero class in the game, and as such, you can't play one until you're level 55. As a result of that, they have more abilities when they start out initially and therefore they might be a bit harder to get a grasp on at first. The Death Knight wears plate armor, and is a capable tank or melee DPS. A Death Knight is primarily a melee class, though it does has a few ranged spells in it's arsenal. The categories this class' abilities falls into is Blood, Frost and Unholy, and those are very much the theme of the class itself too. A Death Knight also gets a Ghoul as their pet by the spell Raise Dead (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=46584), but it only lasts a short period of time, unless you are Unholy specced. Another very unique thing about this class is that it doesn't start where you'd expect it to. Your choice of race doesn't mattter initially when playing a Death Knight, and as such, no matter what race, Alliance or Horde, you'll start out in Eastern Plaguelands, more specifically Acherus, which is not accesible to any other class. Blood is the tanking specialization for the Death Knights, and your talents will generally provide you with extra survivability, as well as additional threat output. Their spells focus a lot on self-healing, but requires you to have diseases on your target almost all the time. Frost specializes in melee DPS, dual-wielding or two-handed. This tree has a lot of procs, and that results in high burst damage. The Frost Death Knight also has many abilities to freeze the opponent in place, or at least slow down their movement. Unholy also specializes in melee DPS, but in a completely different way than that of the Frost Death Knight. Unholy Death Knights uses diseases a lot, as well as their pet Ghoul, which is permanent as a result of choosing the Unholy line. Oh, forgot one thing, when you pick this class your laugh will sound awesome! |
