Nephadne | Is this a phishing email?Mon, 27. Dec. 2010 01:12 GMT Greetings Ulam, As Allanonn rightly says, this one certainly is a fake – the style and content of the mail are totally different to anything we’d ever send, and we certainly would never threaten to disable accounts as a result of “change(s) that conflict with the EULA”! I’m glad to hear that you didn’t click on the link contained within (and thanks very much for removing the URL before posting the email here on the forums), and I do apologise for the delays I understand you experienced when purchasing your digital account upgrade through Battle.net – we have unfortunately been experiencing some backlog with this service, and I can easily imagine that a mail like this would become far more worrying if one was waiting for such a process to complete. Finally, if you ever do receive any other mails of which you’re unsure, you’re very welcome to check and see if they’ve already been posted in our sticky thread dedicated to the matter, and if not then please do post your example within (URLs removed, of course). :) Fake or ‘Phishing’ E-mails from Blizzard http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900641151 |
