Feb. 2012 11:02 GMT Hello there Khorgrey, There’s no problem with your suggestion at all – buying the game (and any expansions) now at the reduced price, and using them later is actually a pretty good idea, but you’ll need to be careful how you go about doing so else you may find the purchased CD-Keys automatically added to your account before you realise! The easiest and simplest option, therefore, would be to purchase the retail versions of whichever game expansions you were thinking of getting, so that once the boxes arrive you can put them to one side and keep them safe until you and your wife are ready to use them. :) Otherwise, during the later stage of purchasing, you can choose to ‘gift’ any digitally purchased CD-Keys to another email address – this would also avoid a new account being automatically created on your own Battle.net account, and allow you to keep the CD-Keys safe for a time when you want to use them. Finally, if you hadn’t already considered it, you may want to think about using the Recruit-a-Friend feature when your wife does join the game with you – the in-game benefits are very nice for speedy levelling, and you’ll also get some gametime credit for your own account if she continues playing. :) Recruit-a-Friend FAQ http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/recruit-a-friend-faq |

Feb. 2012 13:02 GMT Hello again Khorgrey, Fiskerdin’s already done a brilliant job of explaining the potential pitfalls of setting an account up too early so, while you’re obviously welcome to encourage your wife to create a Battle.net account now, I wouldn’t recommend her creating even a Starter Edition account just yet! Potentially upgrading it early by mistake is one reason for this (as she’d obviously then start to use up her initial free month of gametime early), but another would be if you wanted to use the Recruit-a-Friend feature with her when she starts playing the game. In that case, she would need to make use of a Recruit-a-Friend CD-Key (sent from your account when you issue an RAF invitation) to create her account, and the 90 link starts immediately at that time – so no point wasting that either. :) |
