I made a ticket on this, and got answer from GM just going around the subject saying there's nothing they can do and the usual "say a lot without saying anything"

Is the quest bugged?

I finally, after forcing the guild to raid FL months and months when no-one really needed any gear anymore, to get me the staff too.

Finally today, I hit 250 smouldering essences, yay, staff finally, no more FL!
Except that we have to do it again next week. Why? Because the damn quest apparently bugs.

We killed Ragnaros succesfully on heroic mode, which according to earlier Blizzard hotfix means that if someone in the raid has 250 smouldering essences, the heart will be given even though you can't really do the quest the way it's supposed to be done with rage of ragnaros etc.

I didn't die during the kill, no-one did, though we did have few wipes before. And guess what?
No heart of the flame anywhere to be seen, the lava stays solidified, and there's nothing in the middle or anywhere else, nothing in Ragnaros' corpse either, the staff can't be used on anything etc.
Someone guessed that it would appear in my mailbox. It didn't.
Someone suggested go check the instance again, I did, nothing there, though the lavapool was now back in place instead of solidified lava.

The GM, like said before, said a lot without saying nothing, just threw out "maybe you can't die at all to ragnaros on any try? i don't know, we don't know" and just ended with "we can't give any quest parts from the legendary chain to anyone under any circumstances", and that raid id could only be reseted in case of confirmed bug, which would takes weeks and weeks to confirm and it would be reseted before that automaticly anyway. Funny how there's cases where they've gotten their ID reseted instantly or in matter of days max.

Needless to say, I did get a bit "pissed" on the issue, and the GM didn't give me the possibility of filling the survey afterwards, of course, who would want to give player who you know isn't satisfied with the decisions or statements to answer the survey, it would make the statistics look worse.

How is this seriously possible, that with a quest taking months and months to complete, there's a bug that forces you to wait again for a week for next chance on hoping it won't bug again? And if it bugs again? I could be doing this for months and months from now and only get GM's to answer me "there's nothing we can do and can't reset your id because we can't confirm it's a bug"

Oh, and he refused the chance on getting the ticket escalated, to get someone higher to check on the issue and possible bug etc.
