Extremely unsatisfied with GM treatment.Fri, 03. Feb. 2012 10:02 GMT

Hello,
As u well know, the Lunar Festival holiday is upon us and, as every pet loving grinder in WoW, this year I set myself the goal of getting both the Lunar and Festival Lanterns. The Lunar Lantern was fairly easy to acquire as I have a level 85 alliance character but because I had no horde characters, I decided to make a goblin death knight and grind my way to 50 coins of ancestry and get the Festival Lantern. After spending my entire Thursday completing the quests necessary with my level 62 character (including Northrend where flying is not available until later levels) I finally managed to get my coins and buy the pet. Asked a friend to meet me with his alliance character at the Booty Bay auction house to complete the trade. He interacted with the Auctioneer, wrote down "Festival Lantern" and was ready to press ENTER and Buyout immediately as I would've put the pet on for sale. But guess what... a level 7 horde character from Winterspring instantly bought my pet, thus ruining all my hard work. The character I'm talking about was an auction house bot, CLEARLY created with the malicious purpose of scanning the AH and buying all pets of this sort. Wrote a ticket to a GM which was answered after over 12 hours (even though the average wait time states was 2h 53min). By that time, he person had already deleted the character and the GM's answer was that the matter will be investigated and it is impossible for me to get my pet back as Blizz does not offer items sold on AH back.
Now I ask u, is this fair in any way ? The character was CLEARLY a bot and I'm 100% sure I wasn't the only one scammed so I want to see something done about the matter. My friend reacted as fast as humanly possible to try and buy it but he couldn't compete with a computer, that's a fact ! I don't want my pet back, I'll create another character and farm my way to the pet again, don't care about that. But I want to see this person banned or suspended or ANY form of action taken against him. If not, it simply means that Blizzard encourages this kind of behavior and acts, nothing else to understand from it.
Thank you, really sorry for the very long post but my frustration at the moment with Blizzard policies and GM interest is at it's peak. I have been a faithful Blizzard client for a long time now and brought 4 other people to the game, all with accounts payed and level 85 characters even though "the recruit-a-friend service is not available to your country". I seriously don't think it's inappropriate for me to ask for a little respect.
Waiting for any kind of reply.

Trading across the neutral auction house is risky at best Pashamann and with the Festival lantern pets being in high demand, trying to move one to your character using this method means that you have to be very careful to avoid what unfortunately occurred.

I do sympathise with you in this situation and know how frustrating it can be, but as you were told by our regulars and the in-game support representative, this is not something we can recover for you.

As for your report of the player using bots to "snipe" items, this will indeed be investigated and appropriate action taken. We do not condone the use of bots and are actively working on ways of removing them. However there is nothing wrong with players using the neutral auction house to try and catch a bargin.

I wish you all the best of luck if you decide to try again and as Xalah kindly points out, it may be worth reading up on ways to avoid situations like this in future.
