Hi,

I will start with agreeing that this was a stupid mistake to make... but an innocent mistake...

I pick up a BOE belt in the middle of the night. I only check this morning to upgrade it and start by putting in a belt buckle. Immediatly noticing tho that this belt has one gemslot less I calculate the stats if I would put gems in and realise that my current belt is actually better than the new one.

Hoping that the GM's also realise this is just a silly mistake, I make a ticket, hoping they can just remove the belt buckle.

The very short version of the GM's answer is:
I can't help you because there are too many hours between picking up the item and making the ticket.

I find it strange that the GM has to compare the time difference between picking up the item in the raid and actually making a ticket, while they should compare the time of making the item soulbound and making a ticket.
This is unfair as sometimes people pick up an item and for a variety of reasons can't immediatly upgrade it and therefore the mistake can occur some time later. In my case I picked it up quite late and went to bed immediatly after the raid and made the mistake in the morning.

I would fully agree with making a ticket 4 hours after I put in the belt buckle and prancing around with it and getting "my claim denied". But considering I reported it immediatly I find it quite lame.

Thanks for your time

Hello there Kaydra,

I’m sorry to hear that the response you received wasn’t what you were hoping for, and that we weren’t able to assist under the circumstances. :(

While I’d also recommend making use of our WoWconcernsEU@blizzard.com email address to either appeal the matter or provide feedback, I’d like to try and provide a little bit of clarification that may at least explain why your request was denied.

So, when faced with any request of this kind, we either make use of the information that effectively comes “attached” to an item (when it was created, etc.) or less often we might make use of our game logs. Unfortunately, neither of these sources of information provide specific information as to when an item was equipped (and therefore when it will have become Soulbound). What this means is that in the majority of cases we’re obliged to use the creation time of the item in question as an indicator of whether the petition has been placed within the accepted window of time.

Specifically to your case, the fact that you had added a Belt Buckle to the item would have shown in the logs, but again sadly wouldn’t have provided us with any confirmation that this was the moment in which the item became bound to you.

Apologies for any disappointment these limitations may have caused, and best of luck if you decide to send an email. :)
